League Rules

  • 3 bowlers per team.

Captains roll last on lineups and cannot be changed.

Team names are required and jerseys are encouraged but not required.

Upon registration, if a bowler does not have a team, they will be matched together with other bowlers until a team is fielded to the above standards. In this situation, bowlers with the highest entering averages out of the single bowlers will be declared “Team Captain” first and then matched with two other single bowlers to complete their team.

  • Individual handicap will equal 90% of 240.

    All bowlers will receive handicap.

A bowler's handicap will not be limited.

Team handicap will be the sum of individual handicaps.

A team's handicap will not be limited.

  • Bowlers will use their entering average for 6 games before establishing an average.

In order to use an “entering average” from a previous season, the average must be established from a minimum of 21 games.

The minimum number of games for new bowlers to qualify for “Most Improved Average” is 9 games.

  • There will be two divisions (i.e. A & B) with 5 teams in each division. Division standings will be determined by total wins. Each team will have two “Rivalry Match” weeks scheduled and played on a challenge pattern starting week 3. Notice will be given to team captains one week prior to their Rivalry Match regarding which challenge pattern will be used.

During Championship Week, the top 2 teams from each division will advance for standings. Bottom 3 teams from each division will not be scored but will still bowl. Top and bottom matchups will be as followed: 1st vs 1st, competing for overall first and second place. 2nd vs 2nd, competing for overall third place. 3rd vs 3rd and on, are unranked. 1st - 3rd placement matchups will be played on a challenge pattern. Notice will be given to team captains one week prior to Championship Week regarding which challenge pattern will be used.

  • Team points awarded per game: 1

Team points awarded for a “Series Sweep”: 2

If a team does not win all three games, these points will not be awarded.

Team points awarded for a “Captain Sweep”: 3

If a captain does not win all three games, these points will not be awarded.

Max points, per week, to be earned: 8

Every team will have one “Rivalry Match” opportunity scheduled.

During a “Rivalry Match”, 2 team points are awarded per game.

Max points to be earned during this week: 11

If a tie occurs in a regular season game, both teams will be awarded game points.

If a tie occurs in a championship game, the game point will be awarded at the conclusion of the series determined by Total Pinfall.

  • At the conclusion of Championship Week, division standings will merge together for overall league standings and will be determined by total wins. Tiebreakers will be determined by the higher Total Pinfall (including handicap).

Championship week determines places 1-3. Places 4-10 are ranked by regular season division standings (total wins) as stated above.

  • Leaderboards are split between men's and women's statistics.

  • Blind (absent) bowler will score 10 pins under their average

If a bowler is not present by the 6th frame, they will automatically be marked blind (absent).

Blinded and/or vacant teams cannot score points.

Pre-bowling is allowed to avoid blinds.

A vacant bowler slot will score 150 for all games and also receive handicap.

If a team is fully vacant, the opposing team must bowl 10 pins over their average to score game points against a vacant team.

  • A legal lineup consists of 1 or more eligible (regular) bowlers.

Illegal lineups will lead to the forfeit of the infringing team. (i.e. a team using 3 substitutes for a matchup).

Substitutes and 1 rostered bench bowler are allowed so long as one original or regular team bowler is present to avoid forfeits.

If a team forfeits, the opposing team must bowl 10 pins over their average to score game points against the forfeiting team.

  • Prizes listed will be paid after league completion and reconciliation.

Prizes listed are also per team.

    1. $3,000 to the 1st Place team to split evenly among its three bowlers.

    2. $1,000 to the 2nd Place team to split evenly among its three bowlers.

    3. $500 to the 3rd Place team to split evenly among its three bowlers.

    4. 4th - 10th place teams do not win prizes.
